Free Vintage Uncle Sam Images

Hello All!
I've been playing around with my new *HP All-In-One*
I love this scanner! (so far!)
Thought y'all might like these Vintage Uncle Sam images. They would be cute in a collage or just added to your blog. If you have an image editing program on your pc, Uncle Sam could be used as a single image.
These are from 1942 Poultry books on how to raise chickens!
I hope that I did this right!!
I still am trying to figure out the correct settings.
Any advice is appreciated
.

Please let me know if these work. Just click on the image to bring up the larger size. Then right click and save to your computer.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am heading out to get busy with yardwork.
Thanks for stopping by!

Possum!

Woke up this morning to this little visitor! The dogs had been barking about 2 am this morning, but we just thought they needed to go out. Well, turns out they must've seen this baby possum getting IN!
I heard something fall off the shelf in the hall, turned around to look, and there was the baby possum trying to scramble over to the closet! He really was a cute little guy, only about 7-8 inches, not counting his tail. DH put him in a box and turned him loose out in the yard. Yikes! I hope he doesn't try to visit again! We think he may have been in the attic and who knows how he got in from there!
Here's a photo of 2 of the "barkers!" We are babysitting the grand dogs for our DD and SIL while they are on vacation. These 2 are pretty spoiled! Not by us of course!! The chocolate cocker spaniel is from when DD and her hubby ran a dog rescue. They have 4 spaniels.
Flea Market Friday is postponed for this week at least.
Just too many dogs, possums, and craziness around here.
I did get a new HP All-In-One yesterday. That's keeping me busy. I am scanning ALL of my dad's old family photos from way back in the 30's-40's, etc. It's fun. I love those vintage pics!Dad is 93! He wants to make cd's for all the kids to keep, before the photos disentegrate.
Hope everyone has a fun, safe Memorial weekend!!

Freebie Rose Logo

Hope everybody is having a nice Sunday!
It's gorgeous here, sunny and just the right temps to be out and about.
I was playing around with PSP, and made this little logo.
The photo is of a rose in my yard.
The quote, I ran across in an email.
Please feel free to use this rose logo for your emails or blogs.
To use in your sidebar, make sure the "shrink to fit" is checked
when you add it. Then it will size accordingly.
This is my 1st one to make and post.
I hope to post more as I get a few made up.
Hope that you like it.
Thanks for stopping by!
Now, it's back out to the yard.
I have Moonflowers to plant.

Flea Market Friday!

Happy Flea Market Friday!
The sun has finally decided to show up, after about 3 weeks of rain (almost 10"!) I was beginning to think an ark would be necessary. DH tried to mow the yard and had to get help when the mower got stuck in the mud!
On a positive note, it was great to be able to get out and take some photos. Hubby found this Biscuit Jar this morning, and had to bring it home. I grabbed it up to show for Flea Market Friday!
It's a gorgeous Limoges China Biscuit Jar.

I am amazed at the wonderful condition that it's in.

This will be on Etsy probably tonight. I will have a couple more goodies listed there as well.

I found this good link that gives info on collecting Limoges pieces.

More posting soon! I have the weekend off...except for the big "to do" list! LoL!

Have a great Saturday and Sunday!

Moms Day!

Wonderful Mother
Author: Pat O'Reilly
God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me.

I hope all the mom's are taking the day off... at least part of the day, even if it's 30 minutes!!
You deserve it!!

Here's some quotes from famous moms:

Goldilock's Mom:"I've got a bill here for a busted chair from the bear family. You know anything about this Goldie?"

Little Miss Muffet's Mom:"Well, all I've got to say is if you don't get of your tuffet and start cleaning your room, there'll be a lot more spiders around here!"

George Washington's Mom:"The next time I catch you throwing money across the Potomac, you can kiss your allowance good-bye!"

Thomas Edison's Mom:"Of course I'm proud that you invented the electric light bulb, dear. Now turn off that light and get to bed!"

Albert Einstein's Mom:"But, Albert, it's your senior picture. Can't you do something about your hair? Styling gel, mousse, something....?"

Have a great day!!

Wow! Friday Already?

Happy Friday, Everyone!
Here's some Flea Market Items for this week.
These will all be listed in my Etsy Shop asap.
I love the pretty floral design of this China plate by Lefton.

The stand comes with it.

This is a beautiful framed piece that is perfect to show you for Mother's Day!
The silouette is of a mother and child waving to the ships coming in to shore.

It's painted ON the glass.
I'm not sure the correct name for this type of piece.

The background is a print INside the frame, with the ships, cottage, etc.
So pretty in person!

Ok, this is not Mother's Day related, but DH and I just love crockery and bottles of all sorts.
This is a quart Whisky bottle from Scotland.

It dates from the 1800's

I just wonder where it was from, like in a pub or something,
and who was drinking from it at the time!
I'm always fascinated by the history of these great old treasures.

That's all for today.
Hope everyone enjoyed seeing these finds.
Happy Mother's Day weekend!!

Flea Market Friday!

I made it under the wire! Here's more of Flea Market Friday!
This is a little different as the item today is NOT for sale. :(
But, I am hoping someone out there can shed some light on this cute little girl.

She's been in our collection for a number of years.

It looks as though she is traveling through space on a rocket?
Note the little dog in the window of the ship.

If anyone has any idea on the background of this figurine,
we would love it if you left a comment or email!

Here's the marking on the bottom.

Please, check out our Vintage shop on Etsy! Yes, it's open!!

I'm enjoying digging though all our old stuff!
Some of the collectibles, I'd forgotten we even had!

Thanks for stopping by!!
